Generation Assets

Batesville Electric Generating Facility
Batesville Electric Generating Facility, located in Batesville, Mississippi, consists of three 279 megawatt gas-fired, combined cycle combustion turbine units, which generate a total of 837 MW. Siemens Westinghouse is the manufacturer of the gas combustion turbines, and Alstom is the manufacturer of the steam turbine generators. Approximately 30 onsite personnel operate the facility. The capacity is sold under long-term contracts to J. Aron and the South Mississippi Electric Power Association.

La Paloma Generating Facility
Located in Mckittrick California, La Paloma is a 1,022 MW gas-fired, four-unit combined-cycle facility located in Kern County, California, approximately 110 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 40 miles west of Bakersfield. The La Paloma facility utilizes state-of-the-art natural gas turbine technology that results in one of the most efficient and cleanest fossil-fueled generation stations built. The plant’s comparatively low heat rate provides a sustainable competitive advantage in the market. The facility is one of the most efficient assets in southern California and is geographically positioned to serve both northern and southern California. Efficient cycling capabilities allow the La Paloma plant to quickly respond to market conditions and opportunistically increase load to capture incremental margin from spot market volatility as well as optimize around scheduled peak-period operations.
